Le O Cinq Neuf Suite

Happy holidays!
This fall table setting for 4 was arranged in suite 905 at the Ritz Carlton hotel in San Francisco, California.

I spent the Thanksgiving holiday here with Papa and Little Daniel. It's the first Thanksgiving we've spent away from both of our families in a very long time.

Although we enjoy spending the holidays with our extended families, this year, we wanted to celebrate with just the two of us and our little guy.
However, instead of slaving over the stove, we decided to pamper ourselves and let someone else prepare the Turkey. Who better to ask than a world renown chef?
In this case, Chef Ron Siegel .

We actually had the traditional Thanksgiving trimmings for lunch instead of dinner. The hotel offered a delicious buffet from 11am-5pm. Our reservations were at 12pm.

This setting was arranged for our evening room service dinner.

I know, you're probably wondering, "What nut packs table accessories and linens to take to a hotel?" Uh, that would be me.

Since I knew ahead of time that we would be spending one night ordering room service, I thought it would be a great opportunity to set a table and turn an ordinary room service meal into an extraordinary and intimate post-Thanksgiving celebration for 3. I created the 4th place setting for the shrimp cocktail appetizer.

The table cloth is burlap. I layered the table using a chocolate brown runner, then I added a cream plaid fabric to lighten up the table's color palette.

I also brought the chargers, napkins and candlestick holders from home. If you want to make the most out of your holiday travels with your loved ones, it makes sense to make every moment memorable. It's a reflection of how much you thought about your loved ones and the importance of capturing those moments eloquently. So, for me its well worth the effort.

I purchased the flowers for my arrangement from the locally famous Cable Car flower stand in front of Neiman Marcus in Union Square.

The hotel is located 3 short blocks from the square which made for a convenient stroll.

Our post Thanksgiving dinner arrived with a delicious bottle of Duck Horn.

Here is The Little American at the dessert station at the hotel's Thanksgiving buffet. Please visit his blog at The Little American's Travel in the coming days to read about his holiday trip to the Ritz Carlton. Below is a short trailer of that trip:

As always, thank you for stopping by visiting. For more unique and creative table settings, please visit Susan at Between Naps On The Porch. Finally, stay tuned for my next Tablescape Thursdays contribution as I share with you our upcoming December 4th Christmas dinner for six. Happy Holidays!

I love that you packed all the elements for your gorgeous room service supper. Not a bad view, either! Now I've walked those San Franciso hills between the Square and the wharf...an easy stroll?...you are obviously in much better shape than I. Thank you for sharing your special evening. Cherry Kay

Now THAT'S room service! You made that table look like it should!!! Wow! I'm glad you guys had such a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't have to deal with all the "regular" hassle. Gives me an idea on how to handle Christmas this year! (We will have hosted a thousand parties already...why should I have to do Christmas dinner, too?) Excellent! :-)

Oh Julio, You absolutely kill me! This is the best idea ever. I would say only you would think to pack your dishes and linens, but then so would I! Love how you photographed it all in the sepia tones with our wonderful City just outside. And the Duckhorn--puhleese! I love Duckhorn cab. It all looks so romantic and lovely. You are so incredibly talented my friend!

Julio, you never cease to AMAZE me. Everything looks fabulous and I love that you always take the time to make dinner special for your family when you are away. Flower arrangement was beautiful. Can't wait to see the Little American at large in the Ritz Carlton.

Thank you so much for sharing, I'm sure this is as close as I'll ever get to seeing the inside of the Ritz. I love your table and appreciate the thought of taking your tablescape with you so that we could all enjoy your Thanksgiving.

What a lovely table you created! Do I think carrying your own tablescape to a hotel is odd? Nope, I do the same thing camping! LOL

Just gorgeous! I love thinking about you preparing for this before you left on your trip. Everything was just perfect.

Absolutely lovely. What a grand idea for an upcoming trip.. although I might be tempted to "accessorize" the table with items I plan to purchase.. Thank you for sharing this lovely table. It brought back many happy memories of San Fransisco!

Hi Julio,

I took a quick look yesterday, but had to come back and view the gorgeous images again. I laughed out loud (both visits) when I got to the part about, "What nut packs table accessories ...!" I think it's a brilliant idea and one more of us should emulate!

I hope you and yours have a wonderful weekend!

How pretty! Love that you took things with you. My DD1 went to college in downtown SF and lived on California at Stockton for awhile - right across from the Ritz in the blue/gray building on the corner. What charm and great view it had! The Ritz is a gorgeous building.

Thanks for sharing! Followed you here from the sidebar at Vignette Design

I've missed several of your TT entries, Julio...I'm so sorry!
This was such a nice gesture on your part to make "room service" so special. I never would have thought to do such.

We've stayed at the Westin St. Francis there in Union Square around Christmas time & it IS lovely! I mostly remember the red & white cyclamen plantings all over the city. Thanks for stirring up those memories with this tablescape. Its just beautiful!
