Ideas Aplenty

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and many of us probably are still thinking about how to set our tables.  Some will be quite elegant, some will have a quiet sophistication, some will have a creative flair.  If you are still trying to come up with that just right centerpiece, here are some ideas that might get you started.

It’s not too late for pumpkins, and this one nestled in bittersweet is sure to be a hit.

Pumpkins and gourds have such wonderful color and texture that is perfect for the season,

and they can be used in so many different ways.

It doesn’t matter whether they stand alone,

are used as complements for flowers in rich autumn tones

or become part of a playful theme, they provide simple inspiration.

For touches of elegance, there’s nothing like adding silver candelabra

or for a more fun look, wine bottles can be converted with these nifty candleholders from Wisteria.

No matter how you choose to prepare your table for Thanksgiving or any other time, let it reflect your personality and style.  That way you are sure to get it right!

i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

    1. I can’t take credit for all as some of the tables were the work of friends.

  5. Hello LuLu! Love all of the Fall inspiration tablescapes. I have got to get cracking on that. I so much enjoyed hearing from you on my blog. Your daughter is very special and i am sure you miss her so much. You are both talented ladies. Her home really has inspired me, and I’ve been looking at the photos as I make design decisions in our new home.

  6. Thanks for the inspiration. Now that’s a carved pumpkin that even I might be willing to tackle…neat design. Cherry Kay

  7. Beautiful table ! Love all the decorations, very festive for sure ! Happy Thanksgiving… Jules ~

  8. Such pretty and varied ideas. I love the gourds. Where ever did the warty curly things come from? Candles always add so much too! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving planned.

  9. These are lovely ideas. Looks like reasonable easy to do. 🙂 Thank you so much, Lulu!

    1. Table setting shouldn’t be hard. I go for easy every time.

  10. What a lovel way to celebrate Thanksgiving with all these choices for inspiration. My favorite is the pumpkin with the holes for it appears modern but with a twist. I see Pat chose the same one for it is so unususal. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Thanks, Pam

    1. Agreed! When I saw that pumpkin on a friend’s table, I knew it was an idea to keep.

  11. These are all wonderful ideas. I love the pumpkin with drilled holes. Makes a wonderful light for the center of the table.

    1. You are right. The pumpkin was not only cute, it was practical. Thanks for stopping by.

  12. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Pumpkins and gourds definitely add a lot of fall decor the table.

    1. Quite honestly, I’d like to use them all year round. I’m crazy about their color and texture.

  13. Lovely tables, Linda. Our fields of produce were ruined during the recent storm devastation, so no trip to the farm for our T giving vegetables.
Our Tgiving table tends to feature the “good” china, lol, as it is one of the few times a year we use it, and we need so many place settings. 28 is not unusual!
I like to get away from the oranges, as it is not a fave of mine, and use more subdued colors.
However people set their table, I pray they all have food, and shelter and family to share Thanksgiving.
Tahnks for linking to Let’s Dish.

  14. I’ll miss seeing your table in person this year {sniff!}, so you better send some pictures! But what I’ll really miss…the food! Your Thanksgiving feast is the best! Oh, of course I’ll miss the people. It’s going to be weird eating alone! Hoping that lots of work on cheerful Christmas cards will keep me in good spirits! xo!

    1. The food probably won’t be as good without you here to share.

  15. Well said, Linda! I think that’s where it tends to get away from some folks…when they try to stray out of their comfort zone/personal style. If a person is comfortable stepping outside the box, then by all means they should do so every so often. But if not, better to stay within that comfort zone and do what they do best to create a table they can be proud of and their guests can enjoy. You gave some great examples here of centerpieces! I really like the pumpkin with the holes bored in!!! Reminds me of what my brain must look like! 🙂

    1. You know, setting a table is just one more way to discover one’s creativity. I relate to your last comment.
