Reds for Remembrance

Good morning everyone and it's Friday already. I am going to brave it and go to Hobbycrafts this Sunday at the NEC in Birmingham. Need a few things that are hard to find elsewhere!!
Recently I did the online Creative Chemistry course with Tim Holtz and one of the techniques shown was the watercolour stamping one. I really liked the effect so thought I would try it with this stamp. I have not been arty and done a watercolour myself just a clever mix of distress inks and water but such an effective result. I was so pleased with the outcome and reminds me of a vintage postcard image. I love the red colours in the distress inks and these two are Fired Brick and Barn Door.
With this I kept the rest of the card a vintage style and used a spellbinders (Bitsy Blosssoms) for the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the image and they are (A little Bit Sketchy stamps from Sheena Douglass - Poppies and Daisies). This card has been made with Remembrance day in thought for this month.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations challenge 188 - Red's for remembrance!
Crafts and me challenges #108 - Reds
Simon Says stamp challenge -Thinking of You /Sympathy
Crafty Catz challenge #158 - anything goes and December GDT call
Crafters Companion Monthly challenge November - Favourite colour combination

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me today. Hope you like this technique I have had a go at and like the outcome of the card.
Bye for now
x Catherine

    Love your style!!
