A Music Wreath

It seems that the Sheet Music Wreaths
are very popular this year.
I first saw one done by Miss Mustard Seed,

Here is my version:
Start with some sheet music.
Tear out pages and cut them in half.
Roll them into cone shapes.

Hot glue them to a styrofoam circle, beginning at 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock
and then filling in.
Repeat on top with smaller cones.

Then you have to decide on a center piece on the front.
I tried a wadded up ball shape...
Nope.

Then a convex mirror on burlap.
Nope again.

Then I saw one with tiny cones in the center at a flea market
and decided that was perfect for me.

Attach a black ribbon on the back, and
voilĂ !

Mine hangs above my piano....
appropriate for me, don't ya think?
I already had everything, so all it cost was $2.60 for the styrofoam!

Here's what I learned from this project....
It's a little more tedious than you would think.
For my wreath, I used half sheets and the wreath ended up with a diameter
of about 18 inches.
If you use full sheets, that thing will be huge!
Experiment with the size.
Some people leave them open in the middle, some don't.
I'm joining:
Susan @Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday

Cindy @Cottage Instincts for Make it 4 Monday

Linda @Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday
Kim @Savvy Southern Style for Before and After Party
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings to you,

Linda

This is beautiful, Linda!

It sort of reminds me of the key punch card wreaths from long ago. I can't remember my source for the cards. My university extension club made them, probably late 60's.

Hi Linda! I've been thinking of trying my hand at one of these too. I found one in a magazine where they used a French book pages instead of sheet music. Of course, the French Paper wreath roped me in with intrigue! ;) Yours looks very lovely! Now I just might give mine a try soon! You inspire me! ~CC
