Early Christmas Idea

My daughter & grandchildren (ages 4 & 6)
made this darling Christmas sign
for my birthday.

It was a group effort and the kids contributed a lot to it.

Directions:
Get a board (11 X 16 inches)
Add texture by sanding and rounding the corners and edges.
Hit the board with a hammer and a chain.
Let the kids use a plastic saw and hammer to distress, hit, beat & age the board.
Paint with aqua paint (done by the 4 yr. old)
Paint on top with vintage white by Folk Art. (done by the 6 year old)
Using tracing paper, trace the design (which daughter found on the internet)
 onto the painted board.
Paint with red, green, and black craft paint.
Sand the whole board.
Go over it with gel Americana stain (walnut) from HobLob.
Mod-Podge matte finish on the top.
Hot glue a burlap bow on top.

Isn't that cute?!
Can't wait to decorate for Christmas!

Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Linda
