Spooky Tweaking

I recently showed you some of the fall decorations in the living room. I have kept those decorations up, just tweaked them a bit to add some Halloween horror.

Well, more like Halloween cuteness, not horror. I added these cute little candlesticks to my vignette in the stereo cabinet.

They are a miniature witch and a miniature ghost with orange candles. I’ve had them a long time, probably more than 25 years. No, I don’t remember where I got them!

Then I added my jack-o-lantern to the sofa table. You can’t tell it, but I do have the candle lit inside. I purchased this jack-o-lantern many years ago when my son was about two. He is thirty now; you do the math.

I wanted to use the little ghost votive holder, but I thought he needed a little height to show up more. So I put him on a pedestal in the autumn bucket and tucked a few fall leaves around him to help to disguise the base.

The finished sofa table look. I really like the Halloween additions.

I decided not to add any Halloween decorations to the mantel. I liked the finished look so well that I thought some Halloween things might detract from it somewhat.

So that is the Halloween living room! Not much of a metamorphosis today, but sometimes small changes are all that’s needed.

I am planning some cute Halloween treats and will post about them later. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween. My prayers are with all of you in the path of the storm, and please pray for my son and his friends traveling in that direction this week to be in a buddy’s wedding. They are going to Atlanta, but the winds and rains are a threat there as well. Update (11/1): They made it fine; the plane to Raleigh departed on time, no problems. The drive from Raleigh to Atlanta was very windy, but that was it. Our prayers are with the rest of you in the storm’s aftermath.
