Branched Archway...

Do you remember when I decorated
(click photos to enlarge)

Each year I also bring a few branches in...

I take down the portiere drapery
and cover the archway
between the parlor and dining room
in swags of branches...

The leaves surprisingly don't  fall off too much...

I decorate the branches with a couple
of golden glittered birds...

For Halloween a flock of crows gather on the branches,
and somehow this sneaky one eluded being put back in the attic :-)

After Thanksgiving
I will pluck all the leaves off
and revamp the branches
into a sparkling white wintry delight
(my favorite part)..
I'll show you some photos again then :-))

Tonight I am joining..
Funky Junk Interiors for Saturday Nite Specials

Come join in the fun!
Thanks for visiting me today!

This is such a wonderful idea-I used to have an old screen door hanging in my kitchen and I would put leaves on it for fall and fake snow for winter-bring the outdoors in!

How pretty! This is such a great (and no cost) way to decorate for fall. Love it!

Love it Bella! I can't wait to see the winter use of the branches. I once decorated a coffee house and we brought huge branches in and nailed them to the wall helter-skelter and people thought my friend and I were sooooooo with it! lol See? Now I know I am in good company...uh...except you MAY be just a bit more "with it" than I am! xxoo Diana

I really love this look, and the colors are yummy! I didn't register before that you had any of these colors in your house. I'm thinking pink and lavender all the time. Your rooms photograph beautifully, and I love the perspective you chose between the rooms. Very nice! JQ to YOU.

Bella- you sure come up with some fun ideas. I have never thought of doing this- but do tell- do you have to rake inside, too? LOL
I have real maple leaves on my mantel that we picked up outside and will stay there until after Thanksgiving.
Hugs- Tete

What an incredibly great idea...it looks great. And to think that you can change it for the holidays!! How do you adhere the branches to the ceiling?

What a wonderful idea! I saw something similar in a Holiday Tour of Homes that I participated in a few years ago. One of my fellow decorators brought in a branch, the size of a small tree, and placed it in the front hall and hung small bud vases w/ orchids off of it. It was gorgeous and just made the home stand out in the Tour.

Hi Bella,

Your birds just give the branches the finishing touch. I have also been collecting some branches today and sprayed them silver.....the first step in decorating for Christmas :-)!

Wish you a happy evening!

Lieve groet, Madelief

It looks like another week of being late visiting for Pink Saturday. I loved the pink swags and I'm glad I was able to get by even for just a short stop. Have a great week.
