This week's challenge at "Let's Dish", hosted by Kathleen of Cuisine Kathleen, is all about harvest time.
I was happy to put together this table with my early fall dishes and using my happy apple place mats. Where I purchased things will be listed at the end of the post.
I know there are sheep in the pasture but this reminds me of a school house.
I chose apple red napkins this time. Not a color I use very much, other than Christmas.
I found these candle holders at Tuesday Morning last year. I have not found the right size candles yet, but since we are featuring fruit and veggies, I thought the little pumpkins could fill in temporarily. A close up of the apple
Here is a close up of the pear
I love the shade and the scent of this candle. It stays out most of year
The cute birds are also candles, and were part of my birthday package from my friend Kathy

Very pretty tablescape. I love the "serious blue hour" and try to capture it often. Oh, love the pear and apple candle holders. Tuesday Morning you say? I've never been able to find a lot there. I'll have to visit again.

What a beautiful table! I love the dishes. They remind me of the art of Warren Kimble.
ReplyDelete(Thank you so much for your kind words in my blog comments. Your comment made my day!)
I think an orchard is something we ALL wish for right about this time of year! I know I miss the one at my parents' and grandparents' homes. We always knew there would be fresh fruits for picking at will! You did a good job of bringing back a lot of nostalgic memories with your tablescape. I'm thinking that sheep may have been found in a schoolyard back in the 19th century. Heck...people were just happy to be here back then, and they didn't pay a lot of mind to where the sheep grazed! :-) I really like those candlesticks! Very unique!!! They are perfect for fall! Great use of your apple napkins, too!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, that is just beautiful!! I love apples and am using them this fall too. I found salad plates that look like Blue Ridge, but they are Fondeville NY with fruit. Love your table! Thank you so much for always stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. It really means a lot to me:-)
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, I love your apple themed harvest table. It's so perfect for this time of the year. I so enjoyed a peek of the blue hour, too!
ReplyDeleteLove your china, and those napkins are beautiful! I love this time of year. I bought some Honeycrisp apples today; they are my favorite. I really like apples; probably my favorite fruit. Great Tablescape!
ReplyDeleteTotally love the "very serious" blue hour.. and the misplaced glass, i'm sure you had moved it for a shot! Your table looks wonderful. Great find on the candlesticks. Love the placemats with those dishes.. so pretty. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteYour plates remind me of a big old farmhouse. There would be lots of harvesting going on there! I'm hoping to get a big bag of apples this fall to make some apple sauce! Great table, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteAhh apples! Great choice- and you are right this time of year we start to spend less time outdoors and are inside starting to bake, cook and create! I love red so it's a no brainer for me to like everything here! Cute dishes and napkins and I like the candleholders with the pumpkins!
ReplyDeletebeautiful table and love the colors and especially love the green apples are beauty!
ReplyDeleteYes I normally use red for Christmas but now I bought some red plates and the food look really nice and anyway they will be fine to Christmas LOL

ReplyDeleteHi Barbara! I hope you are not going to burn those cute little birdie candles! The Yankee Candle headquarters is up here in Deerfield, MA, and they have a wonderful display room, full of various Christmas scenes. I love their candles too. I am definitely stealing your idea of putting the little pumpkins on the candlesticks! Linda
