A Pumpkin For A Princess

Cinderella Carriage Pumpkin Painted Pumpkin Decoration from mom4real.com
I am the mom of a princess.  So, this year, we decided to make a princess pumpkin.  Yep, straight from Cinderella...mice included.  You may have seen this pumpkin already, because I shared it at the Primp Your Pumpkin Party that Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage, Debbie from Debbiedoo's, and I threw earlier this week.  What a blast!  If you are looking for fall/pumpkin inspiration, you have to check it out...there were over 125 fabulous pumpkin projects linked up!
Now I'm going to tell you what Kate and I used to primp our pumpkin...
I love these paints from Martha Stewart and Plaid!  I mixed the MS Surf colored paint with the MS Tintable Antique Effect to paint the entire pumpkin...it turned out just the way I wanted!  Then I used the Plaid Metallic Royal Gold to paint the door, windows, and stem...I ended up dusting a little gold glitter on too.  Then I painted the window of the door with MS Wedding Cake, and the windows with MS Poodle Skirt.  I just love the way these paints go on nice and smoothly.  I am absolutely not being paid to say any of this...I really do love them!

I took two dowel rods and attached some of my jar lids to the ends for wheels and glued some jewels on the ends.  Then I grabbed some herbs...I think oregano...from my herb garden, scattered some mini pumpkins around, then added the Cinderella Castle, Cinderella, and some mice...totally princessy!
So, what are you doing with your pumpkins this year?

  12. Amazing! My three princesses would love this! My weekly linky party--One Creative Weekend--has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit "One Creative Weekend" on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
