Margaret's Dream

Good afternoon to everyone. Now I will warn you from the beginning this is about to be a bit of a long post but hope you will stay with me while I guide you through this one.
Do you remember a while ago I joined in with a new challenge "The "whatevers" where you tell the story of the photograph given? Well it's time for challenge 2 and a new photo.
Let me introduce you to Margaret and her dream. I have put this tag onto a collaged background which is all made onto an envelope for a journal page. The front (here) includes various stamped and distressed  pieces collaged.
This is the back of the envelope:
I have decorated the back and wrote the story on here. this is how it reads:
MARGARET'S DREAM
Another after dinner talk.
Places they have been and treasures they have seen.
One day I will get away from here and travel the world.
No more after dinner talks. Just the freedom to go where I want to.
PARIS - I think would be my first stop.
Wonder if they would even notice if I had gone.
One day I will travel the world.

If you are still with me here is a close up of the tag. I have made this tag using calico fabric as the base and Tea dye distress stain to age it. Various stamped images using black archival ink have been stamped on to it . The photo was attached and some lace and buttons embellishments added. A bit of sewing on the machine tied it all together.

I am entering this piece into the following challenges:
The Whatevers challenge 2
Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge - what do you say
Love to Create challenge #26 - Add a tag(TOP 5)
Incy Wincy designs challenge - Anything but a card
Tuesday Throwdown challenge #109- doodling(story writing on the back)
Make it Monday #100 with scrapbook sisters - linky party

Well I thank you if you are still here and hope it's not been too long for you. Thanks so much for visiting me and hope you enjoyed a bit of story time!!
Bye for now(need a rest after all of that!!)
x Catherine

  7. Catherine, this is completely lovely - I went with you on the story of her dream all the way, and the card's such a wonderful creation of that dream, from the photo (where she's clearly yearning!) to all the travel details in the papers. Beautiful vintage distressing, and altogether a lovely post, which I've enjoyed reading as well as looking at!
