This simple and ingenious accessory holder caught my eye on Pinterest.
Original source is here.
The description was: 'two plates, a candlestick and glue' and all of it could be purchased at the Dollar Store.
I thought my tween would like one for her room and she was all in!
Off to the Dollar Store I went.
She started with Locktite glue but that wasn't holding so she switched to hot glue.
That worked fine and once it was set, she immediately took it up to her room to accessorize it.
She's using it to hold her hair do-dads and jewelry on top of this piece.
I was trying to get some better light in her room and took this shot.
I spotted an empty mug and set it on top to use as an earring holder (it's not glued on, but it's another idea).I also tried it out as a nail care station...
and a miscellaneous catch-all.
Not too shabby (or extremely shabby chic, depending how you look at it!) for $3 and some glue.

This is a sweet idea! I've used some of my favorite china plates this way as little dessert servers:)
I love this! What a great idea! I really like the mug on top, its perfect for earrings or other little things that need to be corralled! I'm going try this out, I need a catch all on my dresser for all my hair things that just float around (and end up on the floor, and in the drawers and every where else!)
This is so fun. Glad your daughter like it so much!
Cute idea. I like all the ways you tried it!

Not shabby at all.
I have it saved too for Vannah's nail polish collection. Glad to hear yours came out so nicely, and it looks great no matter how you accessorized it, but my favorite was the cup.
This is so much fun! I love it on the white cabinet with the pink mirror... so cute! Thank you for sharing at our Summertime Blog Party!
Love this! I am pinning it :)
I've seen this idea used in the kitchen for serving food, but I've never thought of it in the ways you've shown here. I love all the possibilities!

Oh I love the different colored plates, how fun is this. I made a small one with just the candlestick and a small plate last year, love it and use it for desserts all the time. This is wonderful for accessories. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Cute, cheap and useful, always a great combination.
