DIY: Made with love, for love, to be loved

06/10/2012

I thank God that I can create things on times when I felt dwarfed by challenges and can’t seem to hear the singing birds.

scrap wood to decor to table

I meant to make a table out of this scrap wood but for now it will serve as a reminder that I do not need to wait for that future time to serve a purpose – that right now, in whatever state I am, I can serve a purpose, that I have a purpose, that I may be the purpose.

And so while mommy was busy painting seeds of hope, my little girl joined me. She painted her Snow White in the tray. Wouldn’t the dwarfs be happy with that – even Grumpy?

I may be the purpose. To make me understand that if the seven dwarfs had Snow White, I have Jesus – who will wash me whiter than snow. This is true. Not a fairy tale.

But that is not to say that I don’t believe in fairy tale – especially if the fairy is my daughter peeking through the gate made of scrap wood 🙂

Wish now and it will come true!

Fairy Beatrice

Do I hear you wishing for more fabulous repurposed scrap wood? Close your eyes…wishy, wishy, wishy, wonderful you – your wish now come true! Now open your eyes in Funky Junk Interiors world!

If scrap woods can be made for different purposes, ever wonder why we are made? Let’s hear it and not forget that we are loved!

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

– Psalm 73:25

Hi Rea, haven’t seen you for quite a while..busy?

  2. I love this metaphor for our lives. Often it feels like our lives are scraps of starts and stops, remnants leftover from short moments of failures and successes. What a wonderful vision that it’s really the “scrap” moments that we can use to make something truly beautiful if we open ourselves to be guided by a Master Artist.
    Thanks.

Oh yes! At some points in our lives we may have felt that we are nothing but scraps — rejected, left over, nothing of value. But the truth is someone wholeheartedly loves us regardless of what state we are and it is this love that can transform us.

Come to think of it, there is only a scrap when we decide to throw things away but when we decide to use it, it’s a new material. Very much like us.

We do not have to wait for things to be perfect, right now we can turn SCRAP to SPARC! Why wait for somebody’s K when God says, “Go on and you will C” 🙂

      • I love this. I hadn’t thought about the fact, and it is a fact, something isn’t a scrap until it’s thrown away. I have to ponder that because I have lot’s of “scraps” because I believe I’ll eventually find a use for something. I kind of like the idea of thinking of the “scraps” as new material in smaller, different forms. Thanks for great insight.

Sweet Spoon . . you are irreplacable to me, to Him! This has me crying. I love your creativeness in the midst of challenge, and His ability to do more with us than we could ever understand. love and prayers and thanks!!!

      D-on’t you know
      E-ach time you cry
      B-unch of angels is nearby
      B-lessing you, your beautiful heart
I-n Him, you offer what you got
E-ach portion is valuable because of love

Debbie, you are one of the most beautiful. You serve and give and love wholeheartedly 🙂

Bended… these words spoke directly to me : “that right now, in whatever state I am, I can serve a purpose, that I have a purpose, that I may be the purpose.” Thank you for ALWAYS sending me a message that matters, and helps. 🙂

    • bendedspoon Says:

Colleen, I am just sharing what was shared to me by the fairy. God is so amazing — sometimes He sends me an angel, sometimes a fairy, sometimes a friend like you, and believe it or not He sometimes sends difficult people! Pool of emissaries for me — how cool is that?

And here’s more — He himself comes for me and surely for you too! 🙂

      • Chatter Master Says:

Amen Bended! For some reason your messages get through to me so much more clear than many I’ve heard my entire life. You have a gift, you are a gift! 🙂 And I don’t mind God’s lessons sent to us in gifts of difficult people. 😉

        • bendedspoon Says:

Thank God it gets through you because honestly it sometimes doesn’t get through to me — honestly 🙂

Another honestly, sometimes I hesitate to post or to comment for fear of people finding me crazy but my fear of the Lord is greater than my fear of them — got to share what were whispered. I myself suspect that I am crazy — honestly 🙂

Next honestly, I thank God each time you make me cry. Ever wonder how a few teardrops can drop so much that tears you up? It feels good — honestly 🙂

God’s lessons through difficult people — hmm, someone whispered that you will write a good post about it — honestly 🙂

Please listen because I got to read that and learn! 🙂

          • Chatter Master Says:

For you Bended, I would write anything! 🙂 I was sitting at my desk the other day trying to write about something very dear to me, that would not be published and I burst in to tears. It was a difficult moment, that felt better after the tears. I do get that. And you, maybe sharing the message to us, helps you understand it better. I have often told my students if you are having a difficult time grasping something, teach what you know about it to someone else, usually helps with the answers (my martial arts teaching).

            • bendedspoon Says:

The comment width is getting thinner but I really have to say this — Woot! “If you are having a difficult time grasping something, teach what you know about it to someone else, usually helps with the answers” — one of the best lessons learned, thank you!

And look at the first verse my eyes laid upon waking up — ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.’ – 2 Timothy 2:15

It will be a good and blessed day! Huggggggs to you 🙂

  5. I am so thankful for this post. I needed to fear that.

    Love,
    Theresa

    • bendedspoon Says:

Thanks to God Theresa for making me listen. There are times when I feel I have no value at all and I realized that those are the times when I did not listen to Him.

I am quite stubborn at times — won’t stop hearing voices of the past but the ever merciful God won’t stop either in letting me know that I am valuable.

      You are valuable! 🙂

  6. Ann Says:

    Hi Princess Rea!

I have missed you and your beautiful thought provoking posts.

You have created a beautiful picture on the importance of living in the now instead of waiting for the perfect moment. I like that much!
This is the second post on recycling I’ve read recently – thanks for sharing.

I am blessed and grateful that He can find something in me that He can still use.

    Blessings
    ann

    • bendedspoon Says:

Dearest Anne, I have been guilty of waiting for the perfect moment before I do what I want and need to do. Good thing there is God who doesn’t wait for my perfect time before He calls my attention. He even drags me sometimes — in His perfect time!

Where would we be now if He waited for us to be perfect before He loved us? Maybe in the middle of nowhere — empty as ever.

I am blessed by you. Thank you! 🙂
