Pottery Barn Inspired Tablesetting & I Won!

Before I show you my Pottery Barn inspired Thanksgiving table,
I want to show you the fabulous book (Details) that I won in
Cindy has a wonderful blog full of beautiful inspiration and creativity.
I know you will love it, so please stop by for a visit !
If you haven't seen Charles Faudree's new book - Details -
you are missing a treat.
It is full of inspiration and drool-worthy photos, and,
of course, lots of plates and dogs!

Here is just one example of a room in his book where I would love to spend some time.
Just grab a book and a cup of tea and sit in a cozy chair by the big window!
Can't wait to spend more time in this book!
Thanks, again, Cindy!

And now for my Pottery Barn inspired dining room.
I finally used a gift certificate on this big, beautiful lantern.
I've seen it in the entry of the store, in the center of a table,
with its candle glowing.
They also use bittersweet and mercury glass candleholders.
So............

I just love it.....
but.....
one problem......
you can't see the people on the other side of it!
Not a problem in the stores where they have immense ceilings and NO people!

So.....as beautiful as it is......
I'm going to use my low wavey bowl.
That way we can see the people we are talking to!

Keeping it simple.......
Just using my real striped pumpkins from the kitchen
and my little faux white ones and casual dishes.

Hope you are able to see special people around your table
(and through your centerpiece!)
this Thanksgiving.
It's a blessed time of thankful reflection
and grateful hearts.
And then the rush of Christmas officially begins!
His blessings to you.
Linda

Linda, I do love that lantern and I like you have a low centerpiece so we can see each other. Your bowl and mercury glass with pumpkins is just right.

Linda your tablescape is gorgeous. I love your mix of linens too, they have such a beautiful natural look and perfect with the lantern which is totally stunning. However, I so agree, the bowl gorgeous and will be perfect for conversation. Hugs, Marty

Congratulations on your win...the book looks wonderful and inspiring! I may just pick it up!

Your table is beautiful. I have seen those lanterns and they are beautiful but large. I was thinking of two on my raised hearth {at each end}. But you are right, the bowl is more people friendly and gorgeous, too!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Jane

It is a great lantern, Linda! I'm sure you'll be able to find some place for it for your Christmas decorating. I would always wind up removing my centerpieces from the table because either you couldn't see everyone, or they took up too much room that I needed for the food!

Congratulations on winning that book. Your table is gorgeous. I have those same dishes. I have used them everyday for the past 15 years, and I have never tired of them. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Oh I just love your wavy bowl with the mercury glass and pumpkins...it's very elegant! The lantern is nice too but I prefer the bowl. Congratulations on your win and Blessings to you and yours this Thanksgiving...jj

You are Welcome...so glad you are enjoying the book! I love your tablescape, sooo pretty!!! I have used a crystal cake stand to elevate a bulky centerpiece so the sightline is more open when folks are seated at the table. Possibly you have a stand that can be used to elevate your lantern...it is such a great piece!
Blessings,
Cindy

I love that lantern but it did overwhelm the table a bit. I love the centerpiece you went with. The green really pops. That lantern would look great in a grouping on your front porch or you could put it on a table against a wall so you aren't blocking anything. It's a great piece to have fun with. The rest of your table works so well with all the white and textures!

Love your new PB lantern, but I totally agree about being able to see across the table when having dinner. Maybe it can go on a sideboard.

So pretty! Love the PB lantern! I sometimes struggle with that aspect of design... ya know the reality behind it ;)

Both are beautiful, but you're right, you do need to see the people you're talking to.
