I weird clever?
I was trying to recycle some green wine bottles but the labels were giving me a hard time and they didn't look too attractive with sticky residue left on them. Maybe I could cover the bottles and add some texture too.
I had lots of this hemp cord left over from my birdbath project.
I pre-wrapped before gluing it on and the sticky residue from the label held it on fairly well so I could see if I liked the result. Since I liked it and wanted a more permanent solution, it was time to fire up the glue gun. I started with a drop of hot glue at the base of the bottle started wrapping the twine around it.
I added glue sporadically around the bottle as I wrapped the twine.
Instead of wrapping it neatly at the top, I gave it this random loopy effect to finish it off.
All done!
Right now I have it grouped with some burlap and greenery topiaries on the coffee table. I'm sure it will find it's way to different areas in the house.
I'm ready to make some more. It's an easy way to add a little texture to your tablescapes.
The cost=FREE! Gotta love that.

Cute idea! I love the colors and the effect of the opposite textures playing against each other - the shiny hard surface of the glass against the texture-rich soft surface of the twine.

I've seen some before that were completely covered in twine, but I really like how you can still see some of the bottle in yours.
I love a craft using recycled and free material! This is lovely :-)
What a great idea! I really like it. I wonder if plastic juice bottles (the only kind we get around here) would look as nice?! :)

It looks cute in your arrangement. I've taken nail polish remover to that glue and it works well. I never know where the Goo Gone is.

Very cute! I just added some twine to the bottom of a little tealamp I have but I ran out halfway up so I just left it that way! I do plan on doing more with twine tho, I love the look!!!
