Re-Upholstering A Chaise

Well, hi everyone! I hope you all have had a good week; busy I'm sure! This week was focused on organizing for winter and scouting Craigslist for awesome frugal finds!

I needed a chair - a relaxing chair - for my new office and another storage cabinet or two and doors for the closet and room door. I found four glass-pane doors so two will go on the closet - it's 48 inches wide and had mirrored bi-folds before. I'll use the other two for other closets.

Here's my super duper $15 frugal find:

The entire chaise needs to be re-done. One of the arms is loose, the legs need reinforcement and I'll attempt to raise the back a bit - I may even remove the arms for a more contemporary look.

yes, those ivory outlet covers will be changed!
and the window will be changed next summer so I'm leaving as is.

This is the placement in the room, I'll add a floor lamp next to it. The empty corner will have another cabinet and be a working area. The desk - you see just a corner - will be for the sewing machine, computer work and for cutting material.

Speaking of material....... here are some ideas I have for the chaise. I'd love to know your thoughts - love them, hate them, which two or three you'd put together. These are from Fabric (dot) com:

As you can tell I haven't decided the coordinating colors to go with the light turquoise. I'm going for a modernized look and also will want to be able to move the chaise into another room if necessary. Shades of blues and greens will eventually be throughout the house.

So which ones jump out at you?

ok, I just want to clarify that you're jealous of picking fabrics - not of the nasty chaise!! LOL!

Too many choices! I like lots of them. I am definitely a black and white girl accented with red or pink or even lime green...oooh or turquoise.

3, 6, 8, and 14 are great. There really weren't any that I strongly disliked. You have good taste:)

I like 5 and 8 the best but they are all really nice choices. i think that chaise is going to look fantastic and it might wind up being a favorite easy chair when you are done. Great find!

I l.o.v.e orange and I think a white drop cloth slipcover with a graphic orange pillow would pop, be ultra modern and be unexpected,
which is always fun.
