Stamping Sunday Blog Hop- Fun Folds

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month our team showcases projects around a theme – hop along to see many project ideas from around the world!

This month our team is showcasing fun folds. Fun folds are card projects that use a different fold outside of the standard fold in the middle. They can be simple to elaborate, and each time the recipient opens them, they often think, “Wow!”

The fold I’m showcasing is a simple one, but I loved this idea to turn a standard card, into a book fold. In order to achieve this, you’ll need cardtock that is cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″. Use the Simply Scored tool to score at 4″ and 5-1/2″. This will give you paper that looks like this:

You’ll want to use a very sticky double sided tape in the fold in the centre – my go to is Tear & Tape by Stampin’ Up!.

As you can see I’ve added some detail to the inside of the card. The pocket was created with a 3″x3″ envelope, lined with Pattern Party Host Paper. The other side of the card was lined with Basic White Cardstock and I added details from the Basic Borders Dies.

The pocket insert gives you a place to write a sweet message or add a gift card.

And the details on the envelope flap show the recipient that there is something fun inside.

You could add as many pages inside the fold of this card as you’d like – this would be a great option if you’d like to make a mini album with 4″x4″ photos inside!

Please hop along with the rest of the team to see more fun projects using fun folds! Please click the blue box for a pop up list of designers.

Have fun crafting!
