Hello. Long time, no see

Sorry I’ve been absent, but still trying to recover from brain surgery.. That, and with all of the art being stolen and used by thieves, I was hesitant to post. Just going to post photos today, to try and catch up.

The top card is for my daughter’s wedding. It is a Thank You card for the gifts she and her new husband will receive. The next set of pictures , the cards were done May 6th, for a virtual all day set of challenges. The virtual day of challenges were to use scraps, but all I could find was Christmas scraps, so I did Christmas cards. I know they need to be finished up, but I haven’t had the time or energy to do Christmas some more. Brands used include SU, Doodlebug, Gina K Designs, Recollections, Memory Box.

More Cards I Have Done

A Sheetload of Cards (August 2020) #SUYS

In late April of 2021, I discovered Alicia of “Call Me {Crafty} Al” on Youtube. I have been trying to do some Sheet loads ever since. I went back to August of 2020 for my latest batch of cards 🙂 I will post them below. Other Sheet loads that I have done, I will simply just post without much comment. The cardstock I used for the bases is Recollections 110lb white. I used SU Hand Penned DSP and Memories and More cards (the 3×4) for the focal point. Enjoy!

The Parrot and Cockatiel are from another Sheetload (I cannot remember the month at the moment), and the vintage flowers was an image that I covered in microbeads.

Gina K Designs cards

Hello. Well, let me update you all on my health. I had a meningioma removed from the protective layers on my brain May 28th, 2020. I was doing well in recovery (the surgeon said it can take up to 2 years), then on January 26th, I had a grand mal seizure. I was set back several months, and am now on an anti seizure medication. No, I haven’t done a ton of card making, but I am getting back into the groove. I rediscovered Gina K about a year ago, and LOVE LOVE LOVE her lives (YouTube and Face Book Monday nights at 5pm Pacific, and Thursdays at 10 am Pacific time).

Recently, she did a black and white card, and I took that challenge up. I made 8 of them all together, 6 are birthday cards (because I had 7 feminine birthday cards, total.. and those were done in a batch). Having done the black and white challenge, I used all Gina K stamps (Natures Silhouettes, and Delightful Blossoms- just for the Birthday wishes sentiment). I bought a pack of Gina K’s Parisian Garden, Natures Silhouettes stamp set, and used that, along with Lovely Lavender cardstock, to make the all purple card. The happy birthday is from Quietfire designs, and the ink was Stewart Superior French Lilac Palette ink.

The middling cards are from a sketch challenge I did for my friend Nancy. it was to make a 4 x 5.25 inch card, with a 2 inch circle punched out of the front, and then layer it on a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of single cardstock. I used more Gina K, with Elegant Asters for the butterflies on the one set of cards, and the asters on the other 2 cards. The flowers on the butterfly cards, I used SU Oh So Eclectic. the colours were SU Grapefruit Grove and Hero Arts Raspberry Jam. I did use some washi tape on those cards… no clue where they came from.. they were all in my stash.

Custom Cards

These are a few cards that I have done as custom orders for a friend. Wedding colours and baby colours were/are blue/grey and white, so lots of blue cards. The baby card with the dresser is a double step card, the B heart J card has a card base, and an acetate overlay, Hello Baby uses Moon Baby (SU retired) and stamps, from The Stampin Place and unbranded stamps, RUTH card card base is Marina Mist (retired), tufted EF(SU retired), and the patterned paper is SU (retired).

Ruth’s favourite colours blues, forest green, and wine.. so the dark red gems were to add the wine colour onto the card. The Mommy card uses Recollections card base, CTMH patterned paper, and dollar store sticker paper that I stuck to cardstock. The alphabet dies I bought unbranded (I honestly think that they are a bit different in style from the SU ones that were around at the time)

The Aunty card was done for a soon to be aunty, and she happens to LOVE purple…. so I did the card completely in purples for her 🙂

The Miss to Mrs card was for the Bridal shower of the B heart J card, so I had used similar colours on that one. The EF is CTMH roses, and the umbrella and background dies are unbranded, the hearts are from SU punches (retired).
