Once upon a time, I had a Kindle. At some point during our move 5 years ago, the Kindle went missing and I’ve never recovered it. In the meantime, my husband continued to grumble about the hundreds of books that share our home. I was reading ebooks on my phone occasionally, but it took me forever to get through them. That all changed a few months ago when my dear sister gave me a Kindle. For a long time, I was a closet Kindle user. Though I still profess an undying love for print books, it’s impossible to deny the benefits of electronic books. The Kindle makes it so easy to read anytime, anywhere. I don’t have Kindle Unlimited but it’s never been a problem since there are so many free ebooks available.I don’t usually purchase them; however, I made an exception for these recent downloads.

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

Ruth Ware’s newest book, The Turn of the Key, is a spooktacular read! You can read my review here. This book has all of my favorite elements of a psychological thriller. I wish I’d purchased this as an audiobook instead of an ebook, though. It wasn’t my favorite Ruth Ware book, but it’s still worth the time to read it.

Scythe ebook

My daughter needed a copy of Scythe for her Project Lit read, and I was happy to oblige. I’ve heard many good things about this series, and Neal Schusterman is a favorite. His stories are often “out there” but in a creepy cool way. Looking forward to reading this one!

Educated by Tara Westover audiobook

Educated by Tara Westover had been on my PaperBackSwap wishlist for months when I finally admitted that this swap was never going to happen. There are currently 523 members waiting for the hardcover, and 262 waiting for the paperback. I ended up using one of my Audible credits to get this audiobook and currently I’m on chapter 12. It’s slow going, but so interesting. My daughter was assigned this book in her high school English class, so she’ll get the benefit of the audiobook, too. I love my Audible membership! If you haven’t tried it, what are you waiting for? Don’t miss your chance to get 2 free books PLUS 2 Audible Originals with a free trial!

You don’t have to own a Kindle to benefit from the Kindle app. It’s free to use, and so simple to download books. I just prefer the Kindle because it makes it easier on these old eyes.
