My dad drilled it into me from the day I started to learn to drive to have a “GO” bag in my car. Ex-military. So it has a change of clothes, an ID, a few dollars, a small tool set, bottled water, protein bars, first aid kit, large towel that doubles as a small blanket, small hygiene kit, lighter, etc. It seems silly to be so over prepared, but then I married a man in the foreign service and the first thing they gave me was a sheet with instructions on “GO” bags! LOL! I can honestly say that while I have never been in a massive emergency where I need the GO bag, I have actually used everything in the bag at one time or another. It seems like a lot, but it’s just one duffle bag that lives in the trunk.
