This has been one busy day. I posted about my
WLYS Contest HERE
When I realized it was time for Tablescape Thursday and our Summer School class at Alphabe-Thur
(Rainbow colors) this week RED
I challenged myself to do a tablescape in about 30 minutes!
I only used Red and White!
I decided the breakfast room would be the easiest
The placemats are kitchen towels folded in half
Then I used a large red plate as a charger
Next a white ironstone plate and to that I
added a Red coffee mug with hearts
I love these mugs!
Vintage juice pitcher and glasses
Fiesta sugar bowl, salt & pepper
Milk glass vase with red carnation design was bought
in a Montreal thrift shop while on vacation
I used red handled silverware, red napkins and
white animal napkin rings (a pig and rooster)
each place setting has its own cat creamer
Breakfast anyone?
Everything on this table was bought at a thrift or yard sale
(I think I need to move the kettle grill not such
a pretty view out the window)
I also wanted to share some REDS from the
WLYS from the last two years
I got this set of wood canisters (marked Japan)
This nice family was selling some things from Grandma's Estate
I bought several items and enjoyed this really lovely family
This is the only one that meets the red theme
I fell in love with this pitcher and six juice glasses
This dealer had lots of gorgeous vintage things and
at really decent prices. I paid $20 for this set
This very cute little vase is only 5" tall
I saw it in Mentone, Alabama just sitting in an
open case. I picked it up and looked, the seller said $10
I kept looking and went to other booths, came back by and picked it up again he said $7, I kept looking. He was on his cell phone and looked at me and held up his hand $5 I motioned back $2, he went to $4, I kept going $2 and I heard him say this lady is killing me, lol, but he sold it to me for $2!
That is what the WLYS is all about to me!
I am linking up with these fun parties
Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
Miss Jenny Matlock
Suzanne at Colorado Lady
And to end this post my favorite red
My tomatoes!
A tribute to my Dad who always grew them!
Always,
Linda

Linda, you can't beat red and white. Your table looks very cheerful and inviting. I was going to do a table, but just didn't have the time to get my thoughts together. So my red this week is poppies. :-) Actually I want to plan a table about the poppy theme, but that will have to wait till I find a few related things. LOL

Linda you are one busy bee....I just whipped my post together in five minutes too....I love your red and white table scape....very nicely done my friend!
Linda, wonderful red post and love that table that you supposedly just threw together. I love red and white.
I love red and white dishes and you made such a pretty table setting with yours. I am also a tomato grower and lover. There is nothing better in summer than the first red tomato!
Linda you know how to set a pretty table. I am so sad. My hubby and I just can not get back into the swing of things!
Your tomatoes look yummy.
I am very glad to know you. You post some wonderful ideas. Thank you. Anne
What a cute table Linda! I LOVE that pitcher and glasses set!! And of course, I adore all the toher things too! :)
You are full of great pictures and information. Darling tablescape! I flipped out though over the canister set. My mother had those!! Wonder whatever happened to them.

That is really cute Linda!!!
red and white is always a gorgeous combination. i love the salt and pepper shakers, very very cool ... and nothing beats a home grown tomato all warm from the sun ... yummy!
I like the red and white color theme, Linda. Very nice.
Glad you got such good deals. I usually try to bargain, too. Good job! Susan
Love that pitcher set. Your table looks so cheerful in red and white!
I'm in love with your table scape!!!
Linda, you set that table in record time...I really like it, too! Red and white seem to be very popular this week...they make me happy. Great salt and peppers...but I really think that vase is gorgeous; great negotiating skills to get the seller from $10 all the way down to $2! I love it when something like that happens.
Your tomatoes look better than the couple I am still waiting on to turn red.
Wow! You work well under pressure! Love the red and white, very cheery!
What a bargain on that red vase! ("Good things come to those who wait!!")

Hi, Linda! I can't believe you did this cute table that fast. Great job on it! And I love the red and white. There seems to be a lot of red tonight, and I am LOVING it. Red is a favorite of mine, and it is just so festive in a tablescape.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Love the red and white. Such cute little creamers. Your dad's tribute is so nice and fits right into the red theme. I was just pondering yesterday as I had my first tomato that the worms hadn't gotten to, if my kids would ever love tomatoes like I do, just because I love them. I have tried to bribe them, but haven't had a lover of tomatoes yet.
You did all that in thirty minutes? You have been busy girl. WHEW!
sandie
What a great table. I love all your vintage thingy's, too. Yeah - tomatoes!! You have such a green thumb!
So I keep thinking...WLYS...what in the world is that? Then it hits me...the World's Longest Yard Sale! What fun! Someday I hope to be able to experience WLYS myself. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
Everything looks so pretty. Love the red and white. Have a blessed day, Vicky

Happy Alphabe-Thursday,
LOLA:)
PS Mine this time is HERE. Hope you can join me!
How can you not be made cheerful by looking at red and white?
That table setting is one of my favorites because red is my favorite color. I'm envisioning myself sitting at the table with you over a leisurely lunch!
Red and white...a real wake me up. It's also fun seeing all your "finds".
Oh I just love your classic Kool-aid pitcher!
Terrific red and white summer tablescape!
Love how you used the dish towels for placemats! Very cute table!
I love your red table.
Those canisters are great. Love your tablescape even if it only took you a few minutes!
I love your red and white table!! What a lovely way to have breakfast.
And it's always so encouraging and inspiring to know that beautiful things like those can be discovered at yard sales and thrift stores. Too often, we can look at a tablescape and think it's SO FAR out of our budget. But you (and many other bloggers) show that it really is possible to set a beautiful table on a budget.
Blessings,
Patti
