Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Blog Hop

Spring is a time of renewal, when everything is bright and fresh. Trees begin to bud, perennials push their colorful heads out of the ground, and the grass turns from a dry, course yellow to a soft, vibrant green. Spring is the rainy season in many parts of the world, and we are no exception here in Oklahoma. Our rainy season often consists of storms, with mighty strikes of lightening, rolling thunder, and the occasional tornado. But without rain, none of the growth of spring would happen.

To celebrate the advent of spring, I’m joining The Kids Did It blog and The Mommy Island blog to participate in the 3rd Annual Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Event, which runs from April 10, 2018, to April 24, 2018. The winner of this giveaway will receive a $15 Amazon gift card.

Staci’s Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Hop

Echoes of Joy: 30 Days of Experiencing God’s Grace

Blurb

In Echoes of Joy: 30 Days of Experiencing God’s Grace, author Staci Mauney chronicles her adventures with her sassy Yorkie, Lilly, and her loving and sometimes quirky family. This 30-day devotional contains entries adapted from her blog Echoes of Joy. By focusing on joy as a theme, these messages will encourage you in your walk with Jesus Christ. In each entry, the author connects regular, everyday life to spiritual truths and lessons learned about overcoming fear, embracing change, and building up others. Through it all, God guides her into a deeper relationship with him by revealing spiritual truths through her interaction with those around her.

Day 14

All Things New

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Cor 5:17)

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love taking Lilly for long walks in the park and planting bulbs, seeds, and flowers in my flower beds. I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of the season: the lush green grass, the budding trees, and the vibrant colors of the flowers. It’s a time of renewal when everything is bright and fresh.

Each year, I watch as the perennials that I planted over the last few years slowly come back to life. The rose bushes are abundant with stunning new leaves, the day lilies push new growth out of the dry, thirsty ground, and the dianthus slowly awakens to the warmth of the new season.

Sometimes, I feel like those perennials: barely peeking my head out of the ground, ready to start afresh as a new season in life begins. The Lord provides opportunities each day for us to leave our old lives behind. Each day can be like the first day of spring: “his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lam 3:22-23). As we choose to live for him, our lives will show the growth that he brings.

Dear Jesus, thank you for bringing the opportunity for a fresh start every day, no matter the season of life I face. Amen.
