A bunting we will go

A few days ago - yes I'm running a little late this year - I went to gather all of my Easter things to start decorating.  I found my Easter tree, my grass covered bunnies, the eleventy billion plastic eggs I own, the hand blow and painted eggs my sister gave my girls and my Easter Bunting......where was my Easter Bunting? Granted it was a little tattered, made from flimsy plastic and generally displeased me whenever I used it - but it was the only bunting I had!  I searched everywhere - it was gone.  So just as I have for every other holiday - I made some bunting for Easter.

I started with a template from My Scrap Chick - this is a fall bunting but the pennant style flags are the perfect size for this project.  I used lots of colour and the scraps left from cutting the triangles I used in the middle creating a contrast.

I inked around the two layers of coloured paper and then added a silver doily to each flag.  I flattened Easter patty pans and placed a rosette that I made in the centre - again contrasting with the other two colours.  Decorations are die cuts from Doodlebug Designs.  I printed out large letters and glittered them up. I adhered them in the centre of the rosettes.  There are also buttons, gems, flowers, bows and half glittered eggs.

At the top, on the back of each flag, I glued a paper straw (the same colour as the cardstock).  This is to thread the string through to hang the bunting.  I then evenly spaced each flag and added a dab of glue to fix it in place on the string.  Now, no matter where I move the flags, they will stay in place.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great Easter!
