Bathroom Redo

Moving into this house in December, very few things needed to be done. The walls were freshly painted (in colors I would choose myself) and we just simply had to move right in. However, one room was not the exact color I would have chosen...The guest bathroom. It is a small space that I had an idea for. My summer vacation from school seemed liked the perfect time to tackle this project. I am linking up with Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphis Monday!

BEFORE PICS:

Original Color: Orangish Brown=not so appealing

Before Pic of vanity doors

Notice gold mirrior=hidieous!

The bathroom was not THAT bad, but it just wasn't us.

CHECK OUT THE AFTER PICS:

I decided to use Valspar crackle glaze in order to weather my vanity. Here is how I did it.

 1. Painted a base coat onto vanity (black)
2. Waited 24 hours (recommended drying time)
3. Applied Valspar Crackle glaze
4. Waited 3 hours (recommended drying time)
5. Applied top coat (in white) and watched crackling technique take effect immediately. VERY COOL!

I was going to crackle the doors as well, but then dedided it looked cooler just plain balck. I bought some nifty handles at target and Viola! Project complete.
I am no handy-woman by any stretch of the imagination, but I did use a drill and felt pretty powerful! I am proud of my first DIY project! The mirrior is now painted a beautiful black color and is hung from a ribbon. Tres chic if I do say so myself!

The color is now a gray..looks blue in pic but is gray
