For the next two weeks at
we've got a neat challenge for you. It's called "Make It Pop!" and that just means we want to see projects with some sort of 3D or popped up element....think easel or stepper cards, cards with actual pop up etc.
Now, I have to admit, I did groan when I saw this challenge. Had to peruse Pinterest to get some inspiration. That's when I came across this tutorial for a teepee card. Pretty cool, eh? And, loads easy too (especially when you make some changes so you can be lazy with your making). So easy in fact that I did it right the first time! Well, that's not exactly true.....I did, in fact, cut & fold it correctly the first time but I had something different in mind originally. When I had gotten it all put together though I realized how much it looked like a tree I decided to do something different which meant I had to change my cardstock colour. I'll just show you what I mean.....
And from the side so you can get a look at how 3D it is.....
See, I went and made it into a Christmas tree, complete with a wonderful Tiddly Inks snowman. Now, this snowman (who is one of my favourites) was a past freebie but there's one that very similar to this guy in the Inky Critters pack.
I should tell you too, I didn't make this one foldable as the one in the tutorial is. Nope, I just taped it all together as is....so also no sentiment on the inside either. I'll give it to my husband as his Christmas card or maybe even use it as a decoration instead of a card so I wasn't too concerned about not having a message on the inside.
So why not get popping and enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.
