Read 2 times. Last read November 14, 2019 to November 18, 2019.

Nov 2019: I inhaled the book when it first came out and apparently I loved all the quotes I found but totally forgot the story between then and now. LOL Like Henry Cheng was a surprise to me and I only remembered him as we went along. Completely forgot how integral he becomes to the story. So it was almost like listening to a brand new book. Yay! Read by Will Patton, I just enjoyed every word that came out of his mouth.

May 2016: Entirely satisfying. If you thought everything would be tied up with a nice bow, you would be mistaken because that's not the Maggie way. But I was great with this. It was as if this incident in their lives was over, but their lives go on, and that's as it should be. As with the other books in this series, there's a serious language warning. But her writing is so beautiful and her phrases so pithy, I leave you with some of my fav quotes.

"Other classmates complained about the work. Work! Work was the island Adam swam to in a stormy sea."
"He was a lean, rugged cowboy in the cattle drive that was life, skin striated like the face of a bleached canyon wall."
"Ronan Lynch's stare was a snake on the sidewalk where you wanted to walk. It was a match left on your pillow. It was pressing your lips together and tasting your own blood."
"There was a lot of happiness tucked in the corner of that smile, and even though her face was several inches from Gansey, some of it still spilled out and got on him."
"The sky outside was blue torn by clouds; Ronan longed to be out in it. His species died in captivity."
"Some reason why, even in the press of an emergency, Ronan's first response was to hand his phone to someone else. Now that Adam knew him better, he realized it had more to do with a phone not allowing for any posturing. Ninety percent of how Ronan conveyed his feelings was through his body language, and a phone simply didn't care."

Adriana Love the quotes! I actually was surprised I didn't like this as much as the others - not because of the ending or anything. I think I just got lost in the story and would have to reread them all again.
