The Smallest Things

Happy “unofficial” start of summer!  I say it’s official as I’m tired of the damp, dreary spring we had.  I hope you have some fun plans for Memorial Day.  I will be spending some time in the garden.  I’m a little behind on the vegetable planting so I must get them in the ground this weekend then I will work on the flower pots.

Speaking of flowers, that is the theme of one of the challenges that I am entering this card in.  I was delighted to see flowers as the theme of the Stamp, Ink, Paper #49 challenge.  I’ve combined this with the color challenge at the Global Design Project #37……

I wasn’t sure how to translate these colors into a flowery card but I think my sweet little blooms do the trick.

This is such a nice sentiment that I wanted it to be the focal point of the card. The sentiment is from a new set in the upcoming Annual Catalog called Layering Love.  The card base is Island Indigo with a mat of Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla.  The edges of the Very Vanilla are stamped with a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Tip Top Taupe ink.  I find it very difficult to sponge edges.  They just never turn out the way I like, so this was a great alternative.

The sentiment is stamped in Island Indigo and cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I cut two more edges of the same framelit in Island Indigo and Tip Top Taupe cardstock to frame the sentiment.  The sweet little flowers are from the Petite Petals stamp set and stamped in Island Indigo ink and colored using a blender pen.  I layered two flowers for a little more dimension and added a pearl to the center.  The leaves are cut from Mint Macaron cardstock using the Bird Builder punch.

The inside sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped in Island Indigo.  I just added a few more little flowers to the bottom.

Just a few more little flowers stamped to the front of the envelope completes card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend with family and friends!

Until next time,
