This was a light-hearted look at the life of a nomadic football player on the B list who ends up playing in Italy and finds some meaning in his life. There were some very amusing sections, but underlying it all was a sense of drifting and disconnectedness. When Rick finds friends on his new team, he learns some lessons about life and love. Thoroughly light and fun. The descriptions of Italian cities and the food were amazing.
(note for gentle readers: a little language; although there are no graphic sex descriptions, sex is referred to a lot)
