The ThornBearer (Penned in Time #1)

The book was great. I did enjoy it to an extent -- but the reader should know before reading it that the entire plot revolves around the main character being abused in secret by her father during her childhood. To me, I wasn't as fascinated with the book as much as I thought I would be... but I did like the aspect of faith that builds throughout the plot!
To break down the plot in numbers, this is how much weight I feel was put on each subject:
15% about the Lusitania sinking & WWI (I wanted MORE!).
55% about her abusive childhood (it permeated every thought and movement).
30% about her love life and suitors (which was usually nice and sweet, but always with undertones from her childhood memories).
Like I mentioned above, Christian faith is brought into the plot, and really "elevated" the whole plot, in my honest opinion.
