A businessman whose wife has just left him runs into trouble with some shady characters, including a man from his past who he thought was dead and a woman with whom he was once involved. A set of counterfeiting plates from Nazi Germany are being smuggled into the country and his former friends need his help with his radio expertise. Murders occur, as they seem to do, but are his former friends responsible or are there other competing parties involved. Will his respectable life be destroyed? Will his wife return? Aarons is very good with action sequences and this early paperback original, as Edward Ronns, is no exception. The plot is sufficiently complicated, though the solution is not much of a surprise. Solid. And no actual cats appeared in this story, thankfully.
