Read 2 times. Last read March 3, 2016 to March 7, 2016.

March 2016: Audio for the second go-around and I loved it as much as the first time. I think I say that every time with these books. Maisie is a fav character for me.

August 2014: I am an unabashed fan of this series and love it so much that I'm doling them out as a treat to be savored rather than gobbling them all up as I'm tempted to do. Because then I'll be out of Maisie books and that will be sad. This novel has a compelling puzzle with clues that aren't always obvious. The plotting is very good and tight. An American cartographer with a British father enlists early in the war and is killed. His parents want Maisie to find his secret love and she is drawn into a tangled web. Her personal life also becomes slightly tangled and there's a big reveal in the last chapter that will shape the series to come. Such an awesome character and series!
