I LOVE old Mirrors!

And I have quite a few of them.

I’ve shown this mirror before here.

And this frame was also seen in this post.

To achieve the look of the mirror shown above, I decopauged aluminum foil around the frame and glazed it with a black glaze.

For some reason this next mirror always makes me think of church.

This old towel-bar mirror is one of the very very few things my husband has brought home for me from the trash.  In his defense, he didn’t go digging through a stranger’s trash.  He had a friend who was pitching it and thought I would like it.  What a proud day for me!

I picked this up from my favorite barn sale several years ago.  Notice my husband lounging around in the background (it’s so hard to photograph mirrors).

Kinda sad story with this mirror.  This was in my grandparents house.  Back in my teens I loved the frame but hated the old mirror in it so I took it to a mirror shop to get a nice shiny new mirror instead of the old streaked mirror.  Sigh….I wish I had that to do over again.

I think this mirror was actually a door to a wardrobe.  I picked it up a loooong time ago at an estate sale.

I picked this frame up earlier this year at a thrift store.  The price was kinda steep for a thrift store at $15….but it is a great mirror and frame.

This last mirror I’m showing today is from an older mini dresser that my mother had as a child.  I’ve always loved this piece.

There you have it….a few examples of my old mirror obsession.

get out! aluminum foil on that frame? love it and love the little one of your moms AND I would be kicking myself too about the “shiny new mirror” replacement but it’s still a very cool shape! I love all of them!

  2. Aw, your mirrors are all so cool! I like each and every one of them too – they are all unique!
