That inveterate Challenge setter Bev Hankin, she of My Reader’s Block, has come up with a new way to goad us vintage mystery fans into reading action!
Here’s the plot premise for 2016:
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to find as many objects on the scavenger hunt list as possible on the covers of the mystery books you read. As has been the case for Vintage Bingo you may play along in either the Golden or Silver Mystery Eras (or, for the more adventurous, both).
I have no idea what the future holds for me, but I hope to play along as best I can and bag at least a couple of dozen objects next year.
How about you?

Even though I had sworn off challenges for 2016, I will give this one a shot. I don’t know how many I will aim at but I love book covers and especially vintage mystery book covers, so I cannot resist.
I feel the same – I am going to be scaling back quite a bit next year, but Bev is way too tempting đŸ™‚
That’s too bad, but quite understandable too. Your output is and has been extraordinary, the kind of thing I can only dream of.
I’d love to take a crack at this but my reading pace is slow at the best of times and I hate taking on something I feel I can’t complete. Am chewing it over still, mind.
Well, the minimum is 6 over 12 months – go on, be a devil!
I am tempted, and will give it a bit more thought in the coming weeks. Not sure whether I’d be much cop at book reviews though.
That’s why I keep changing it up, Sergio. So you won’t be able to resist. đŸ˜‰
And Colin–Reviews are not absolutely necessary and certainly not as in-depth as Sergio (and other do). A quick peek at what you liked about the book would be fine if you decided to write something up.
Thanks for going to all this trouble Bev.
Most intriguing! Thanks, Sergio!
My pleasure – will you indulge Margot?
Not sure, Sergio, truth be told. But I am intrigued!
I reckon you foind it a doddle – mind you, very tough on those who rely on e-readers!!!
Lovely idea.
Go for it!!!
Sounds like fun!
Yup đŸ™‚
Sergio, I’ll be content seeing what you come up with, considering that you share the spoils so generously with the rest of us. I look forward to reading your reviews behind this innovative challenge.
Well, OK, but if you ever change your mind chum!
Glad to have you back, Sergio! And I’d love to see anyone else who’s interested join in the fun.
Thanks chum. đŸ™‚
