Picture Frame Necklace Holder

Ever since I made a plastic canvas earring holder, I've been thinking about how to make something similar for my necklaces.  I am so much more likely to wear jewelry if I can see it displayed in something as opposed to digging through a drawer looking for it.

So, when I found this frame at Goodwill for $2.99, I knew it would be perfect for this project.  It's a 9x13 size I think, but any size would work depending on your collection of necklaces.

I removed the photo and glass and spray painted the frame a bright color, which complements our bedroom decor.

After it dried, I had my husband drill small holes in the back of the frame, where the glass would usually sit in the frame.

Then I screwed in the cup hooks (a package of 20 or so was about $4 at Target) and hung it on the wall.  My frame allowed for eleven cup hooks, but you could add more or less depending on how far apart you would like them to be spaced.

I love how it not only helps me find my necklaces easier, but it's artwork for our bedroom wall.

I first saw this idea here.
