My Love Affair With Sequins

Well, you may have guessed by now that I absolutely LOVE creating with sequins.  They are so soft and sweet, and add such a lovely little touch to your projects.  I've been creating so many projects with sequins lately, and just can't seem to stop.  I get all my sequins at V's Sweet Ideas because they have SO many gorgeous colors, and their prices are super reasonable (as well as their shipping rates).  I think everyone should own sequins in every lovely color they carry.  You can follow this link (or the one above) to go directly to V's Sweet Ideas to check out all their delightful sequins.
This little gift card holder was created using a Small Glassine Bag from the Kraft Outlet.  They sell there for just $2 for a package of 25 bags.  Aren't they super sweet?  I added some patterned papers, a gold die-cut PTI word (happy), some Sequins, baker's twine, a Heidi Swapp heart, and some Pink & White Striped Washi Tape.
Inside the Glassine Bag, I added a tag made from cream card stock, and inserted a Michael's gift card.  That's what I really love about these little bags.  They can be used for giving gift cards because they're the perfect size.  I got the little Heidi Swapp plastic hearts at Michaels.  They really do carry some super cute items, and sometimes I get really lucky with their sales.
I'm sharing my little envelope gift card holder in these challenges:

This photo (above) is a page from the book our middle daughter, Alicia, wrote and had published.  It's a story that was written for my sister's children.  As some of you know, my sister, Audra, passed away in October from Brain Cancer.  Alicia wrote a story for her children that is a pirate adventure where the children have to listen to their Captain (Daddy) and work together to find the treasure that Queen Audra had left for them.  It's a DARLING book, and of course it made everyone in our family cry when they read it.  I just thought I'd share a page from the book.  Alicia did such a nice job on it, and it's VERY special to all of us.  I'm sharing it in this fun challenge:

  1. This is beautiful, Karen!! The recipient is sure to love the sweet feminine look to it. I love sequins and am learning how to use them. LOL I had a disconnect there for awhile, but I'm working on it. :) What a thoughtful project for Audra's children! I'm sure it's a treasure to all of you (no pun intended).
