MFT Summer School fun!

Hello friends!

I hope your day is going well. Today I want to share a few cards Following the MFT Summer School lessons

Print

This one is for the Focal Point  / Quiet Space

For this card I stamped (using the  little star from MFT Wavy Greetings) and stencil the background using gold pigment ink. For dimension  a few star shaped sequins. A clear overlay was the perfect solution  for my sentiment stamping dilema ;) given that glitter paper is not very stamp friendly ... I stamped using both opaque gold -to add a subtle shadow- and black Staz On inks.

The next card is for the Flow/ Movement lesson and the Color Challenge ;)

The inlaid technique is a great option to add pops of color and not many layers, love it! The sentiment is from MFT's " Totally Happy"

And the last one is for the Line and Focal Point lessons

I must confess CAS cards are really hard for me - I somehow tend to go nuts on the layering, I guess I should stop crafting when hungry ;)- but after spending  a super fun week learning the basic design  elements through the fabulous posts and videos the talented ladies over at My Favorite Things Stamp Blog shared, I think I am ready to ditch the bulky cards! A shout-out to all of you selfless crafters that share your talents with others, so grateful for all of you!

As always thanks for stopping by and remember there is still time to join the  MFT Color Challenge #24, just saying :)

Have a fabulously crafty weekend!

Liz

Day 2 of Exploring Watercolor Mediums

Hello crafters!  I hope your day is going well. I am here to share my fun work 😉for day two of Exploring Watercolor Mediums over at Altenew Academy. In today’s  lesson Jen Rzasa invited us to experiment watercolor on non floral images, using watercolors with the black outline heat embossed technique. I don’t currently own a large geometric image that resembles the Arabesque Medallion used in the lesson, so I have to dive in my stash and see what other geometric images could work. Here are the results of my experiment: Even though I like all of them,  I prefer  the “mandala”, maybe, because it was more time consuming to double trace ( once with permanent marker and a second time with an embossing marker) the stencil image and then stamping the individual circles.  Of course, working late at night, my brain fried, I made a mistake😖, I was so disappointed I almost threw it away, but being that I am short on watercolor paper I hesitated and had to figured out a way to salvage it 💡: by c

TURTLEY kind ;)

Hello friends!  I hope your day is going well. I wanted to share with you an idea for gift tags using cookie cutters and paper clay. This is the tag my oldest child help create for week 3 SHMK challenge: Children. Inspired by this weeks theme we also  made Alphabet shaped cookies and gave a few young friends their names covered with their favorite color frosting, they were gone before I could take pictures!!! I  have enjoyed Jenniffer's challenges this is a cause that speaks to my heart and we encourage our kids to be polite and kind always :) this just feels good! Onto the project ;) My littlest nephew loves TMNT's Leonardo and he has been wanting a "lounge" set actually he calls it "soft clothes". He has eczema and it is aggravated by clothing with a high nylon or polyester percentage and unfortunately all the PJ sets our there are we found have a  high polyester or acrylic percentage. So, I had to go get some cotton fabric and luckily enough I found
