Have you noticed the seashell ribbon that is sand-storming my vignette??? Can you see it has real shells inside it??? A very long time ago, I fell head over heals for this ribbon and bought a whole spool of it! I had NO IDEA what I was going to use it for BUT I had to have it(YES, Ribbon often follows me home too)... July came along "AND" my Fathers Birthday!!! I don't remember what I gave him that year BUT I do remember that it was tied up with the prettiest bow this ribbon could make! Dad LOVED his gift and as he loosened the bow he handed it over to me and said "Here you go, Save it for next year"... Now and then the bow gets used and passed back & forth ... How can you make something that is already on your favorite things list even better... "EASY"...Tie your Dad's Love and Heartstrings on the end of that ribbon!!! |

Hi Donna! I feel like I've been missing your posts for a while and so have lost touch with you just a bit.
Hope it is warming up in your neck o the woods and you will soon be enjoying that She Sells Sea Shells sand between your toes!
beautiful post, i thought i was going to see the book remarkable creatures since it is the story of the real mary selling seashells by the seashore, but was thrilled to see carmel cottages instead, i lived there for years and adore every sq inch of the place. another charming little vignette~
Oh my you made me long for a leisure weekend at Cape Cod. I grew up on the shores of Wellfleet as a child and it was most magical:-)
I love the bag, and the seams are my favorite part, too.
As usual, your vignette is full of treasures and inviting. I love the way you put things together. We used to vacation at a beach in Connecticut when I was growing up. I can't remember the name of it, though. I hope your rains let up so you can get fishing and sun bathing.
My daughter just looked over my shoulder as I was reading and exclaimed, "Oh, my goodness! It's a fairy tale house!". Of course, I had to scroll backward then and show her your house in the winter. Plus, I had to tell her all about your "Papillon Pass" since she's a big butterfly girl.
Off topic, but I just had to share.
Hey Donna, how are things? What a lovely post and such great wins. Cheers
Lovely post full of sea side treasures and delightful tales.
Lucky you for winning that gorgeous bag, it's fab.
Maggie
Love your posts! The china is wonderful. My friend just made a baby quilt in greens, pinks, browns and white using the same technique as that wonderful bag you won. I made have to try my hand at a bit of quilting.....
Blessings, Linda
I just love this post. I have a passion for the Sea too and hope to live by one someday. Just adore all your things.
Hi Donna,
Congrats on your wonderful wins! Love the bag! That doll is too cute! I am a beach girl too and most of the summer that's where you will find me. Living on the Island makes that easy. Wonderful post and have a lovely wekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
I can just picture you with ribbons and china following behind you :)! You put together such fun and shimsical vignettes. Not much of a fisherwoman myself, but I would like to have others fish and read a book while they do. Joni
As always my friend, you make such beautiful posts and so interesting! The china is beautiful. I love the bag you won, you're a blessed girl. I love all your sea side treasures and your stories about fishing with your men. I hope you get beach weather this weekend honey!

Hello Donna,
Happy to hear that you lovin' your cute bag...thanks so much for the shout out:) Sounds like y'all are getting all our rain too...it's been a very dry Spring here and my water bill shows it. Hope you get some sunny days soon.
Blessings,
Linda
I came back to tell you that your sea shells are great and I love the conch shells specially. You sent me to the past listening to the Righteous Brothers with EBB TIDE and UNCHAINED MELODY, I had a couple of tears remembering those great youth days...although I wouldn't change my happy and blessed life, but, wow, it was so long ago! Luv ya!

Blush! Oh, Donna, what a wonderful story & vignette to present your tote win. You are so very creative in your presentations/stories. Love it.
So very pleased you were the winner ... but I must confess, these sewn items we sell are created by wonderfully talented ladies, not I ... I couldn't sew a lick, trust me.
Have a beautiful wekend, my friend ~

Well, I was so busy looking at that lovely teddy bear and doll that I missed the sea shell saying. Heck, I can't even say it once. Oh well, to know me is to love me. I hope!
Happy Weekend.
Hugs,
Prudence
Your posts are always something I look forward to...you have such a wonderful way to display everything! Love the bag!
Oh, my gosh, we must be on the same wave length.. no pun intended. :) This morning I got out my little Byers' Choice seaside girl for a Memorial Day weekend post. I DO love your little beach babe with her sunsuit and sandels and the Nautical bag is absolutely adorable.
Thanks for the inspiration and fun beach scene.
Have a great weekend,
Babs
PS do children wear sun suits any more? They are so cute and so much cooler than knits. I hope they haven't gone by the wayside.
Just enchanting...you always take us to such charming place with such adorable little creatures and lovely dolls. I love the way that you used the shawl in lieu of sand ~ so creative. I always look forward to your posts.
I think that you have discovered the perfect remedy for excessive rainy days...precious vignette. The new bag will be such fun for the summer. Cherry Kay
What an adorable vignette.
I used to love playing Ebb Tide on the piano - it was in C so not hard and sounded so impressive! I have old sheet music too! Darling posting. Hope you join me for Tea in the Garden on Saturday!
Lucky you, I love the cute bag! And I love this little doll, she reminds me of my daughter with red hair. A good way to spend a day here! :D
how adorable, I just love your little girl!
Your vignette the the story attached to it is charming. Love the bag. Going to visit Coastal Charming next. The music was so nostalgic. I remember practice the little ending ditty over and over again in speech therapy class when I was young. Hated it but it helped. I don't lisp anymore.
You've been a lucky girl. Congratulations, Donna! What a sweet seaside picnic vignette. You are so creative! Ebb Tide was always a favorite. Haven't thought about it in years. ~ Sarah
Dearest Donna,

Wonderful images and warm thoughts. My mother had a conch shell, too. I have no idea what happened to it. You are lucky to have your mother's shell.

Hi Donna! That piano rendition of Ebb Tide is beautifully done! I started chuckling when I heard the words "First the tide..." and then realized I was looking at a beach vignette. I have seen you around blogland winning so many special treasures like that pretty bag. Your cup is very special and so is your hubby for remembering it! Linda

This beach theme really brings out so many interesting ideas. Happy 1st day of summer to you!
SO cute! This is really, really imaginative!!!!!! I also love the song "Ebb Tide" and TRY to sing along with it when it comes on the radio. Can't quite hit those notes like the Everley Brothers! :-) PLEASE send the rain our way! We are in a drought here in the Midwest, and we could use a good 4-6 inches...although not all at once! Our water bills are going to be sky high again this year. :-( Have a wonderful weekend!!!
