Homemade Donuts

Yummy and Easy Homemade Donuts

Ingredients:
Refrigerated Biscuits(I like using Buttermilk)
High Heat Oil(I use Safflower Oil)
Sugar for dusting

Start Heating the Oil. While you are heating Oil, Place a paper plate and paper towel ready for the donuts to cool. Oil doesn't take very long, about 10-20 minutes, depending on your stove.

Pull Biscuits out of container and cut holes in center. I used a melon baller for that. Sorry you have to see my yucky stove.

Flatten the dough. It will expand in the oil.

Every oven is different, so I like to test the dough to see when the oil is ready. Just drop small pieces of dough until it comes out light brown and the center is not gooey.

Drop in the dough and when you see the edges turning light brown then you are ready to turn it over.

Nice light brown color.

Let them cool slightly on the paper towel.

While donut is still hot and greasy, dip them into a bowl of sugar.

Yum, enjoy.

My daughter eating all the sugar off first.

She loves this treat. And so do I.

The first couple of donuts I made came out really gooey. After a few testers I finally got it right. Now I just save the oil every time I use it, so that I can use it again and again. And I do. We make homemade Donuts a lot. It is easy, fun, cheap and they taste like real cake donuts that you buy. I have put frosting on them and dipped them in chocolate too. You can get creative with these. Any questions, let me know.

XOXO-
