Fun and Easy Decoupage Frames Tutorial

I would have loved to have posted this in time for Mother's Day because it would have been a great gift idea, but my schedule has been crazy. Now, you can file it away for next Mother's Day. Here's a quick tutorial on how I made some cute, inexpensive frames for my home and for gifts.

Purchase an inexpensive wooden craft frame-I got all mine at Michaels.

Paint your edges with acrylic paint to match your scrapbook paper and let dry.

Trace areas to be cut out on the backside of your paper and cut with an exacto knife.

I love my new one I found on clearance at Kroger.

I applied a generous layer of Mod Podge to the frame.

Smooth out with an old credit card. Then I added a coat of Mod Podge to the top.

Add your embellishments....

The unexpected... (found these chunky wooden shapes in Canton, Texas Flea Markets)

I sanded down my edges with a fine grain paper.

I added distressed edges to a couple...

Be creative....

Scrapbook embellishments work great!

These sisters are here local and gave me the inspiration for the frames I created. I would love your comments with links on tutorials or tips on making cute frames.

I'll be linking up at these great parties this week!
