Puppy Love - Fabby Friday @ Tiddly Inks

End of the work week again.....well, at least for those of you that work the standard five weekdays a week. I don't, but I'm running out of clever ways to begin my Fab Friday posts so "End of the work week again" it is.

I guess tomorrow the big smoochy day, isn't it? Valentine's Day, ooooooooh. (Please read the ooooooooh as if it's in Sarcasm Font. Thank you.) Have to admit, I really don't have an ounce of mushiness in me. I don't watch rom-coms. I make gagging noises at the tv over Hollywood canned romance. I roll my eyes over sappiness in general. To give you more of an idea, this was a recent conversation at our house....

Husband: Want to go out for supper Saturday night?
Me: Huh? Don't you have hockey on Saturday night?
Husband: Well, we could go out if you want.
Me: *pondering silence while I wonder why he'd be willing to skip hockey*
Husband: It's Valentine's Day.
Me: Oh right......OMG, no! Restaurants will be packed and have jacked their prices, long waits for food, grumpy servers....no. Valentine's Day *retching noises*
Husband: *palpable relief that he gets to go to hockey*

Yeeeesh, really. I'm telling you, the Finns have got it right. Did you know they don't celebrate Valentine's Day? Well, actually, they do. But it's not called Valentine's Day. It's called Ystävänpäivä or, Friend's Day. And it's about remembering and celebrating friends rather than significant others. That works for me!

Still, after all that Valentine's bashing, I do get into the spirit of it for my kiddies. They get cards and chocolate. And, the cards are handmade of course. Now, this has been an awfully long set up just to show you this.....

Valentine's Day card.  Isn't that puppy adorable?  He's from the Dog Days set, three puppies and a sentiment (plus a bone and a heart) all for $4.00.  Awesome, eh?

Just for the record it does annoy me the hearts on the ribbon are sideways.  But, not enough to not use said ribbon.
