From Trash to Mother's Day Gift Box

Last week I bought this wood box at a yard sale. I really didn't have a plan for it then.

On one of my almost daily forays to Home Depot, I spotted this Oops paint and had an ah-ha moment: Mother's Day gift box.

After the first coat, I filled some nail holes and seams.

After the second coat, distressing and staining, here it is in all it's distressed, stained glory. Hmmm, I don't know where that wine came from.

And here is the finished product; filled with some Mother's Days goodies for mother-in-law.

Awesome Rosie, Love it - will you please tell me what color you used on it, I´m making myself a bed-spread stand and this is just the color I want to use.

Lovely! My mother gave me a huge bowl filled with treasures as well. Those are the best gifts!
