Cosmos Cake Plate Inspired May Day Tablescape

When I found this darling Cosmos Cake Stand at a recent yard sale, I knew she would want to be featured in the center of a tablescape. I gathered some of the other flowers in my stash of dishes and this tablescape was born.

Here she is peeking out from among the candles.

All the candlesticks are thrift or yard sale purchases. The candles (including the wonky one) were a recent thrift purchase. Also joining the center are two delicate Coalport ceramic floral pieces and a Wedgwood ceramic heart box in the Wild Strawberry design.

I used thrifted green placemats as a base for the placesetting. I pulled out the Villery and Boch white dishes purchased from Fortessa, topped them with the Bordallo Pinheiro green cabbage leaf plates (Marshalls), and finally with Dansk “Floating Leaves” plates which were a Dansk outlet purchase. Oh, how I miss that store!

Each of the salad plates features a different flower in the center and a delicate raised design around the edge.

I used my mother’s silver again. It is the pattern Lyric by Gorham.

The ramekins are by Royal Worcester in the Astley design. There are two different flowers featured on each side of the Ramekin. These are another recent thrift store purchase.

You will also see that the bees have come to join the flowers. These glasses are Napoleon Bee by LaRochere. They were a Macy’s purchase, on sale. So many of you ‘scapers have these darling glasses and I admired them over and over. I finally got my own set and I love them.

Each setting has its own vintage porcelain placecard with delicate flowers coordinating with the salad plate. I haven’t written the guests’ names yet. Will you join us?

The porcelain placecards match the porcelain menu stand. The menu is still being decided so no dishes have yet been added. These vintage porcelain sweeties were a find at a local women’s club sale.

Here are some other views of this Cosmos Cake Plate inspired tablescape. I hope you enjoy them.

I hope to join Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch and Debbiedoo’s Newbie Party.
