really liked it

bookshelves: fantasy, young-adult, series, magical

This turned out to be a really good story. It has some raw subject matter for teens, ie. torture and rape, but it was a very well-told tale in an interesting political setting with intriguing characters, suspense, action, and a tiny touch of romance.
