PPA218 Clean and Simple Silver Merry

Here’s a challenge I was excited to see, since I love silver.. and immediately thought of pairing it with Night of Navy and using it for Christmas!
Coincidentally, those were also my wedding colors way back in the day… brings back memories of gluing little silver and blue ribbons onto ivy bowls for centerpieces… what was I thinking??  BTW, hot glue melts when you put a lit candle in the bowl!!   Anyway, back to the current world..

Here’s the challenge that got me wandering down memory lane:  PPA218 Sandy’s Clean and Simple Challenge.

Here’s the creation I came up with for it:

A few things to note on this….  fussy cutting brushed silver cardstock is not as easy as I thought it would be! I think I may need more practice if I was going to do this one again…   Aside from that, this was pretty easy to do.
I used the Night of Navy and Silver inks with sponge daubers to ink up the stamp. I love the rhinestone in the snowflake – I colored it with the Night of Navy Blendabilites marker and placed it right in the middle. I threaded the silver ribbon right through the little hole to hang it, and only put the sequins at the top of the card, so the snowflake would be the focus on the bottom.
I hope you like it as much as I did!

Behind the scenes:  This has NOTHING to do with stamping, other than this card color scheme made me think of it!!  Since my wedding was pretty much pre-digital-camera-age, I flipped through some old scanned files and found this… wed1Talk about a blast! And my bridesmaid only hates me a little for her dress. 🙂  (Her dress is navy, but you can’t tell from the pic, and hubby’s vest is silver.)

Enjoy your day!
