WMS Easter Waltz

It's that time of the month again when I'll be waltzing away with WaltzingMouse Stamps. Our theme this month is Easter and my newest stamp set I have aquired from WMS is Spring Baskets. I just love this set as it is just so perfect for Easter and spring time. In fact, I have three more images from this set already colored and ready for a card. That is something I am going to get done before next weekend. I kept the card rather simple as I like my Easter cards to represent the reason for the time: Jesus died as God's sacrifice for our sins and when He raised on the third day it was not with a parade or a big show. The patterned paper is an old one I've had lying around. I really like the subdued colors and the natural feel of it. The pattern also resembled clouds to me. The green strips were punched using the Martha Stewart grass border punch. I rumpled up the blades after I sponged the strips with PTI's Vintage Touch ink system. I lined either side of the sentiment with some bling to give the card a sutble elegance. The eggs were stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink onto PTI's Vanillia c/s (I love using PTI's paper for my copics) and colored using my copics: YG63, 67; BG15, 13, 11. Each egg was then coated in three different glossy accents although they didn't come out as smooth as I wanted (that what I get for not paying attention and laying a piece of paper on them before they were done drying): one plain, one with some glitter mixed in, and one that crackles (a good representation of us as some are "simple", some are "flashy", and many think they are "broken"). Kinda bummed that the picture of the eggs don't really show the three types of gloss :(

You've used one of my favorite papers of all time, and very cleverly at that. Don't you just love how strong that paper is? It's a beautiful card!
