I love this series. It tells the stories of some ordinary people living in a neighborhood in Edinburgh and how they succeed, fail, and have some crazy experiences along the way. Smith writes them as ordinary but his humor wins out when they occasionally get into the oddest situations. I listened and read the book alternately and I love the reader for his series. I really enjoy visiting with them. The serial form of the book is also a fun way to weave the characters in and out and it's fun when Isabel Dalhousie's friends make a cameo appearance.
