Birthday Party

My grandson turned 7 this week. Time for a party at our house! We had lots of cleaning to do! I had to clean up almost all of my craft supplies. But I did get this card made before I did.
I had actually made the background card base a few weeks ago while taking the Water Coloring for Card Makers class. I put Ranger Distress Inks on my Um Wow Star Confetti Mask, then spritzed it with some water and layed it on the water color card stock. It's kind of opposite of stenciling.
I painted some chipboard balloons and confettii from the Um Wow Big Bash collection with acrylic paints and went over them with some Twinkling H2O in Heavenly and a little Egyptian Gold on the weight. I used a White Faber Castell PITT Artist Big Brush pen in white to color the strings of the balloon.
The stamps are from CAS-ual Fridays-Rad.
I'm linking this up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Father's Day/Masculine.
I wanted to link this to another masculine challenge, where you can't use kraft color, but I can't remember where I saw it…oh well!

and here's the inside

  1. Fabulous happy card! I love that b'ground technique, but you've made me want a star stencil ! Hope you all had fun at the party, I bet it was worth cleaning up your supplies, at least for a bit. Now that you're done there, how about hoping on a plane and cleaning up mine? LOL
