Springtime in the Garden of Love...

"Springtime breaths music in it's gentle breezes"...
Today is the second day of Spring yet Mother Nature had other plans... She gave us Snow Today and has plans for more during the week... There is nothing that warms our table like "Goodies from the oven"... Here I've baked small apple strudel pies  &
a batch of Joni's Gingersnaps...  I made an addition of pressing a DARK Chocolate Kiss on each cookie as it came warm from the oven... Who Knew Ginger and Chocolat tasted so Incredible Together...Mmmmm! Oh and "My Sherry Sherbets" are awaiting a scoop of homemade vanilla bean ice cream! Joni has the "BEST RECIPE'S EVER" and such a fun blog...Do visit her @ "Red Couch Recipes"
I chose to have a Spring Symphony for all the Senses...
Antique Sheet Music always lifts my spirits...This piece is from my extensive collection from 1911... "Can you hear the soft music filling the air"???
We had some beautiful 70 degree days last week and I had my linens breeze drying... The smell of line dried linen is "So Sweet"!!!
If I have "No Nibblers" these beautiful smiles greet me from my gardens throughout the spring and summer... BUT "Viola Rebecca" is also loved by the little bunnies and such that stroll through my paths... SO I hope to think of Mrs Cottontail smiling as Mr C carries  her home a bouquet of these delights...
"Viola Blue Moon"...
The linen napkins were a "Special Extra Surprise from Sherry"... How did she know that I REALLY had been wanting a set like these"!  They are So Extra Special because they are a gift from Sweet Sherry...          "Sarah, Did you recognize "OUR" little Shawnee Squirrel Scampering around"???

These are the "Federal Glass Sherbets" I Won from Sherry's generous "Giveaway at Back 2 Vintage"... I had been looking for a set for "Oh So Long"! and like a wish come true they have now settled at home in Conghaile Cottage!!!
"Thank you So Much Sherry... You are such a Sweetheart"!!! Do Visit Sherry's Wonderful Blog "Back 2 Vintage"...

I don't envy you the snow, but I sure would love one of those ginger snaps and an apple pie. The green sherbets are a great addition to Conghaile Cottage. They are lovely! And yes, I noticed our little squirrel first thing. Nice idea to use him to hold silver. I'll need to remember that.
Hope spring arrives for you sometime soon. ~ Sarah

Such pretty vignettes. The violas are wonderful, I love the colors...so pretty! Spring has hesitated here too; yesterday we had a deluge of rain and snow in places it isn't supposed to be.

Donna: I love your vignette this week. I have a collections of little planters, like your Shawnee. I never could figure out how to use them other than for plants. Thank you for showing me this delightful use. When I think of you I think of a fairy tale. Today, your vignette looked like a fairy tale. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha

What a fun win! As always I love your photos. I have some old sheet music that was my mother's and grandmother's. I also just brought some home from my in-laws garage to wrap something in. I just couldn't cut up the family pieces. So far I haven't been able to cut up the ones that were stuck in the garage either!!

Everything is so lovely and springy. We had snow flurries yesterday and today. If I hadn't planted some primroses on Saturday, I would have no clue it was spring. I love the mossy placemates and both of those violas are exquisite. You always do such a lovely job. It is always enchanting to visit here.

Kelly Mac said...

Thanks for such a lovely post. I'd never thought of using moss sheets for a sort of place mat, but they look exquisite and definitely say "spring". I might have to borrow that idea for Easter.

When snowed in that is the best way to deal with it. Cook ginger snaps and have a cup of coffee and eat up. It is hard to imagine you with snow now. It is so hot and dry here. We need moisture of any kind.

Good morning, Donna,
You've got me in the mood for spring. I love the violas! They're such dear little flowers and have been one of my favorites for a long time. A few years before my father passed away, he came to visit me and I was planting violas and pansies in my garden. He said they were his favorite flowers because they looked like they had tiny faces and all of them were happy. Ever since then, they've been my favorite flowers. I plant them every single year and they're some of the first flowers in my home at spring on the dining room table.

Thanks for sharing another gorgeous blog post,
Susan @ CluckleBees
Happy day to you!

Your Spring Garden and photos are magical! I too have some nibblers, only mine aren't bunnies, but gophers. *le sigh* Alas they enjoy nibbling on the same items I planted to nibble upon to aid with the weight loss! *winks* Thanks for weighing in on that Post and giving me tips on what has worked for you. I'm not a Dessert or sweets person either so that's not my biggest temptation... but that wedge of Brie I consumed in one sitting, a whole other story! *LOL* NO MORE BRIE in the House... too seductive for me to resist! *Smiles*

Happy Spring and thanks for your encouragement... Dawn... The Bohemian
