Earlier tonight, I spent a couple of hours playing with my new supply, the Inktense Blocks by Derwent. These have become a favorite very quickly and I can’t wait to show you other projects I’ve done using these awesome-tastic chunky blocks. I’ve a feeling you’ll see me using them a lot in my videos :o)
Anyway, here’s an A2 one layer mixed media card where I used acrylic paints, Inktense blocks, and dye inks. With an old credit card, I scraped Plaid acrylic paints (Sunny Day, Pink Parfait, and Key Lime) on my card base. I rubbed Inktense blocks (Deep Indigo and Sea Blue) on my butterfly stamp, spritzed a little water to activate the colors then stamped over the paints. After they’ve dried, I inked the same butterfly stamp with Paris Dusk Memento Dew Drop Ink and stamped again, slightly offset. With a wet brush, I flicked a couple of Inktense block colors (Apple Green and Tangerine) over my card to create some spatters. Last, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and Lilac Posies (Memento/Tsukineko)– I combined two STAMPlorations stamp sets to create this: “you are” is from the It’s All About You rubber stamp set and “the best” is from one of the 5 new MOM Subway Art Builders sets. (Check out the pre-release sale here.) I finished the card by affixing 3 small pearls.
I based the layout of my card on the current sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch #65. For CASology Week #84, the cue word is “Paint”. At Addicted to Stamps and More, the challenge is “Clean and Simple (CAS)”. It’s Anything Goes with Pearls this week at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.
Time for me to catch some zzzzzzz’s! Thanks so much for stopping by!
