Welcome to What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday - the first in February

Hi folks,

Welcoming new follower, Sandie Munro. Sandie's my first new follower in a while so thanks for joining me.

Yesterday saw us visiting rellies again, they always make us feel so welcome with tea and cake - though I should point out that I felt able to resist the cake this time on the grounds that my hubby had made cheese scones for lunch - mmmm, they were still warm!! YUMMMM. Nice chat over a cuppa. Hubby fitted their new wireless router and I set up my aunts kindle and showed her how to download a book from it too - she's very happy

Continuing my quest to make eight Christmas cards each month I am entering challenges as I see them and, over at Merry Monday their new challenge is to "Use a stocking", and over at Stamplorations they are deploying a CAS sketch ....

Materials used:
  • C6 Kraft card and matching sized envelope
  • Kraft card and DCWV "winter stack" paper
  • Three strips of ribbon, attached using double sided adhesive
  • Penny Black sentiment stamped on to white card using Versafine onyx black ink before mounting on to offcuts of green (from the layering leftovers) and red card
  • VIP stocking image stamped on to an off cut of white card using Memento Paris dusk ink and cut out
  • Alcohol markers to colour image
  • Stardust stickles to highlight
  • Dimensional foam tape to attach the stocking to the card
A little poetic licence perhaps with the sketch but I hope it will be allowed.

Over on Craftbubble 2½ (registration required) there's a group called Craft Mad and Loving It and their February challenge is: "Night time" and here's my entry for that ...

Materials used:
  • Kraft C6 (300 gsm) card and matching sized blank
  • Black card image panel cut very slightly smaller than my C6 blank
  • Off cuts of silver mirrr card, black card and white card for my image panel
  • Hero Arts row of houses and Imagine That sentiment stamped on to my white card panel using Versafine onyx black ink (I struggled to get a decent image and this was my THIRD attempt)
  • Distress Ink in faded jeans applied to background using an Inkylicious ink duster
  • Atyou Copic spica glitter pens to colour windows and doors
  • On the black background I use versamark ink applied liberally to Kaisercraft "grid", "bubblewrap" and "chequer" images and also Visible Image ink blot before applying pink, cerise, gold and blue mica powders with a fine brush. I then used a larger brush to remove excess and set using hairspray

I also plan to use my New Home card for the 2nd entry over at Pan Pastels where the theme is "Anything goes".

And it's What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday once more so here's a peek at my desk ... in all honesty it's  been tidier but its also been waaaaaay messier too!

In the foreground you can see my ever growing collection of Kaisercraft background stamps .... addicted much?!?!

Happy Wednesday

The silver ribbon caught my eye as I thought it was a silver cardstock you embossed! Great job with the challenge! Thanks for playing Merry Monday!

I'm impressed by your 8 CCards per month goal. I should follow that too! (probably won't though!) I really loved that #1...so very elegant in the simplicity of it. Would make a wonderful assembly line one I think. #2 was equally a Wow, and your spica windows are gorgeous. Liked the shimmery background too, and great use of your stenciling. I see your following is growing! Good for you. The cheese scones made me drool. TFS & Hugs
