Menu Monday: The Most Amazing Stroke of Chocolate Chip Genius EVER
Posted by frugalchristianliving on February 14, 2011 · 29 Comments
I like Superbowl Sunday. Never mind the fact that I had not yet seen a single game of football all year.
Never mind the fact that it really made no great difference in my life who the winner would be.
I like any excuse to get together with my brothers and sisters.
I like seeing them get all excited about the game.
And I like eating.
(Wait, did I just say that out loud?)
So, for a little peek into our little party…
There were excited little “men”…
There were cute babies….
(I know. I want to squeeze her too.)
There were houses divided…
There were games and giveaways…
There were passionate fans…
(And …not so passionate.)
There were crowded rooms…
And whadda ya know, even Buzz Lightyear showed up…
Twice!!
There was more passion…
(Accompanied by yelling…)
And then, across the corner of the room……
These.
The biggest plate of the biggest chocolate chip cookies I had ever seen.
Ever.
Like, I’m talking… the size of a small baseball… big.
And from the other side of the room, I heard these words…
“They have Oreos in them.”
My heart leapt.
The Lord is good, my friends.
Very good, indeed.
WOW.
I’m not sure who first came up with this stroke of genius, but I love them.
(But not as much as I love you, my sister in Christ),

[…] Frugal Christian Living shows off this yummy looking twist to a chocolate chip cookie at her Superbowl Party…just add an Oreo! She says it was Amazing! […]
Those look YUMMY!!!!
Okay – I have a batch of cookie dough all mixed up. How do you do it? Just wrap it around an oreo and bake it?
Yep! I saw that some people use an ice cream scoop…..put a scoop on the bottom, a scoop on the top, and wrap it around until the oreo is covered!
My goodness what a crowd! Sure looks like fun was had by all! That cookie – looks like a meal! Imaginative – those children – precious!
Thank you for sharing with A Return to Loveliness!
God Bless,
Kathy

Anytime, sister!! 🙂
These look amazing! I saw your like from Hope Studio’s link party. Just wondering if she told you if you can just cook them normally?? I hope you got to eat one! ~Lori
Yes, Lori…I’m pretty sure you just wrap an oreo in a HUGE ball of cookie dough, and bake until the cookie dough is done “just enough”!
Wow. Never seen a cookie like this but that has to be amazing and so simple to make. Looks like everyone was having a great time. Blessings.
I am totally going to have to try these. They look delicious!

For a variation on those cookies, mix 1 box of oreos with 1 block of cream cheese. Make little balls and wrap your chocolate chip cookie dough around that… yum!!!
